Antiquarian Books

Bindings worth keeping.

I look at books the way I look at the rooms they came from. The leather, the boards, the marbled endpapers — all of it tells you who held this before you, and how often. Some are read. Some are kept. The ones I bring home are usually both. Mostly English and Continental, dating from the eighteenth to the early twentieth century. Bindings vary. Inscriptions are common. None of them were made to be replaced.
