Vintage Sheffield Silverplate Footed Cake Stand
Vintage Sheffield Silverplate Footed Cake Stand

This stand is solid and stable and sits flat and level. The pedestal foot is firmly joined to the plate with no wobble or looseness. The silverplate is intact across the piece with no copper showing through at the rim or on the foot.
The top plate shows surface scratching throughout, the kind of fine and crisscrossing marks that come from use over many years. You can see this clearly in the photographs. It reads as honest age and does not affect how the piece stands or serves. There is some light darkening and tarnish in spots, normal for silverplate, and it responds to gentle cleaning. The reeded rim is crisp all the way around with no dents or splits.
The maker's mark on the underside is clear and fully legible.
Please review all photographs closely, as they form part of this description.
