This is a small footed bowl in Mexican sterling, built low and open on three slender ring feet with a matching pair of ring handles at the sides. The ten-sided rim rises and falls in soft points around a plain, bright interior, the kind of quiet form that was made to sit out on a table and hold nothing more demanding than nuts, mints, or a few small things by the door. What gives it away is the underside: a stamped column device with MADE IN MEXICO and 0.925, the export marking Mexican silversmiths used through the middle of the last century.

Condition

This is an honest, gently used vintage piece and it shows its age. The silver carries tarnish overall, darker in the recesses and around the rim points, with a scattered bloom of darker spotting across the interior and underside that is surface tarnish, not pitting. Under the bright polish you will see fine scratching throughout, the ordinary record of a piece that has been handled and set down over decades. The ten-sided rim is even, with no splits or tears at the points. The body is free of dents and holds its shape.

The three ring feet and two ring handles are original to the piece, applied and soldered to the body. At each joint you can see the solder seam, and in places it reads slightly warmer in tone than the surrounding silver. That is the original solder showing at an applied joint, not a later repair. All five rings are secure.

This is thin-gauge sterling and it is light in the hand, so it is best thought of as a decorative and occasional-use piece rather than heavy holloware. It has not been professionally polished down or buffed, and the marks on the underside remain legible. Please review all photographs closely, as they form part of this description.
