A turned marble baluster pair from the Indian hardstone trade, cut and polished from a heavily veined brown, gold, and cream stone. The two vases are matched in form, each a footed urn shape with a flared rim and a drilled center that lets them hold a single stem. The veining runs differently through each one, so they read as a true pair rather than identical copies. Both keep their original "Made in India" foil labels on the base, and one carries an incised square cartouche. A practical, sculptural pair for a shelf, mantel, or console.
Both vases are in good vintage condition with honest surface wear. The stone holds a good polish throughout, with heavy natural veining and mineral inclusions that are characteristic of the material and not damage. The undersides show light scratching consistent with shelf use. The rims, feet, and bodies appear intact in hand, with no visible chips or cracks. Both original foil import labels are present but show wear. The drilled centers are open and clean. Please note the porous stone will not hold water without a liner.
Shipping & Returns
All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
Furniture is the exception. Because of size and weight, furniture shipping is quoted separately rather than calculated at checkout. Send a DM on Instagram or email austynmariedesign@gmail.com for a quote, or arrange your own shipping from the warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
If your piece arrives damaged, please photograph the damage immediately (including packaging), contact us within 48 hours at austynmariedesign@gmail.com, and do not discard any packaging.
