This little tole planter wears its decoration entirely by hand, grape leaves and clusters painted in warm gold and amber across a green ground. Brass lion masks hold ring handles on either side, and a pierced gilt gallery rings the top, a detail meant to let air reach whatever was growing inside. It has clearly done real work in a garden room somewhere.
This piece carries real wear consistent with age and with use as a working planter. The interior wall and base show significant rust, with paint flaking away to expose bare metal across a wide area of the interior bottom and lower interior wall. The exterior base shows the same rust bleeding through chipped paint. All three feet have paint loss at the tips, revealing a lighter metal underneath the green overpaint, wear rather than a repair as far as I can tell from photographs. The exterior body presents well otherwise, with the hand-painted decoration, gilt gallery, and brass ring handles intact and legible, showing only light surface wear consistent with age. Shipping & Returns
All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
Furniture is the exception. Because of size and weight, furniture shipping is quoted separately rather than calculated at checkout. Send a DM on Instagram or email austynmariedesign@gmail.com for a quote, or arrange your own shipping from the warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
If your piece arrives damaged, please photograph the damage immediately (including packaging), contact us within 48 hours at austynmariedesign@gmail.com, and do not discard any packaging.
