Vintage Flemish Interior Oil Painting, Cottage Doorway with Geranium

A view straight through a timber-framed Flemish interior, one room opening into the next, where a red geranium sits on the far windowsill and catches the only real light in the painting. The handling is loose and worked wet, thick in the beams and the doorframe, looser in the shadowed corners, the kind of quick confident interior study that Low Countries painters turned out through the early twentieth century. A green glazed jug sits on the floor at right. Signed lower right. The signature reads as a Flemish or Dutch hand, though I could not match it to a documented painter, so it is offered here as bearing a signature rather than attributed.
On its original keyed stretcher, tacked at the edges rather than stapled, in a later gold-painted frame added recently and not original to the work. The paint surface is worked thickly in places and reads as stable in the photographs, with the usual light surface grime consistent with age. There is minor handling wear at the canvas edges and corners. The tacking margins show some staining and a few spots visible from the reverse. I have not seen evidence of relining, tears, or overpaint, but this is an observation from photographs and not an examination under magnification. Nothing about the surface has been cleaned or restored to my knowledge. The frame shows minor wear to the gilt-painted surface at the corners. The signature at lower right is legible as a script name but I could not resolve the surname with certainty. Please review all photographs closely, as they form part of this description.
