A substantial silverplate chafing dish bowl by Eton Silver Inc., with a rolled rim, ornate scroll handles, and sculptural claw feet. The proportions are formal and the scale is real: 15 inches handle to handle, with an 11.5 inch bowl.
This was originally an electric warming server. The lid, heating element, and cord are all long gone, and the fittings on the underside show where the cord once attached. What is left is the bowl, and I would argue the bowl was always the good part. The mechanics were a mid-century convenience. The claw feet and scroll handles are the design.
It works as a centerpiece, a fruit bowl, a floral vessel, or a bar setup piece. Sold as the bowl alone, and priced accordingly.
The lid, heating element, and electric cord are all missing and are not included in this sale. The underside fitting where the cord attached remains visible.
Otherwise the bowl is in good vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear. Light scratches, scattered tarnish, and spotting are present.
There is heavier wear and discoloration to the underside consistent with use.
Because the original electrical components are absent, this is sold as a decorative and serving vessel only. It cannot be used as a warming server and should not be wired.
Shipping & Returns
All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
Furniture is the exception. Because of size and weight, furniture shipping is quoted separately rather than calculated at checkout. Send a DM on Instagram or email austynmariedesign@gmail.com for a quote, or arrange your own shipping from the warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
If your piece arrives damaged, please photograph the damage immediately (including packaging), contact us within 48 hours at austynmariedesign@gmail.com, and do not discard any packaging.
