Vintage Cast Brass Horse Head Wall Plaque
Couldn't load pickup availability
A cast brass horse head mounted on a shield-shaped wood backer, made to hang on the wall. The horse is shown open-mouthed with a flowing mane, cast in the round so the head stands proud of the board.
The brass carries a warm gold tone with natural darkening and green verdigris gathered in the recesses, particularly inside the mouth. The wood backer is stained a deep red-mahogany and fitted with a keyhole hanger on the reverse.
Sold as-is. The piece is structurally sound and hangs securely. The brass shows warm color overall with natural darkening and green verdigris in the recessed areas, heaviest inside the open mouth and around the ears and eyes. Surface wear and light handling marks are consistent with age and use. The wood backer is stained a deep red-mahogany, sound throughout, with a keyhole hanger and two mounting screws visible on the reverse. Date is a construction-based estimate; there is no maker's mark or country stamp. Material is assessed as cast brass. Photos govern.
