A blue and white wall pocket vase, hand-painted with a climbing peony design in cobalt on a white ground. The flat back and triangular hanging hole mean it sits flush against a wall, holding a few stems where a table or shelf will not fit. Wall pockets like this were made to bring flowers into entryways, powder rooms, and narrow spots that a standing vase cannot serve. The scrolled side handles and banded borders at the neck and foot follow the chinoiserie and Delft-style tradition that has stayed popular in traditional and cottage interiors.
This wall pocket is in fair condition with several issues to note honestly. There is a chip at the top rim where the neck meets the shoulder, with a small area of glaze loss. A crack runs down from the rim through the blue border band on the neck and is visible from both the front and the side. There is a separate chip at the base rim along the bottom edge of the foot, with a small glaze flake at that spot. The unglazed areas of the back show age-related spotting and toning along with light surface wear consistent with display and handling. The triangular hole at the top is the original factory hanging hole and is not damage. The painted decoration across the front is bright and intact with no fading or loss.

All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
If your piece arrives damaged, please photograph the damage immediately (including packaging), contact us within 48 hours at austynmariedesign@gmail.com, and do not discard any packaging.
