Viking Glass Co, based out of New Martinsville, West Virginia, USA - this style from their Epic Line. This is a Mid-Century Modern swung vase from Viking Glass’s Epic Line, easily identifiable by its dramatically pulled, fluted form and three-lobed (“three foil”) base. This shape was achieved through a swinging process done while the glass was still hot, giving each piece its own unique vertical stretch.
Viking was known for its bold, sculptural glass in rich colors, and this smoky charcoal tone fits perfectly into the more neutral, earthy palette that's become so desirable in today's design world. The vase blends organic fluidity with geometric structure, exactly what makes Mid-Century American glass so collectible.
Condition:
This vintage Viking Glass swung vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or cloudiness to the glass. There are a few light surface scratches consistent with age and prior use, visible only under direct light and typical for mid-century hand-blown pieces. The base shows a smooth polished pontil with minor shelf wear, confirming its vintage authenticity. Overall, a beautifully preserved example of Viking’s mid-century craftsmanship.
