A substantial pair of mid-20th century Indian export silverplate urns worked overall in hand-applied repousse with scrolling floral and foliate motifs. The body carries dense decoration: flowering scrolls across the main field, a band of stylized foliate forms at the flaring rim, and vertical gadrooning on the lower body. Each urn stands on a stepped square plinth that gives the form an architectural quality. The label on the base reads "For Decorative Only / Made in India," consistent with Indian export metalware of the postwar period. At 16 inches, these are statement objects on a console, mantel, or flanking an entry.
The pair is in good vintage condition consistent with age and use. Both urns retain their allover repousse decoration with no losses to the surface relief. The silverplate finish shows oxidation in the recessed areas of the decoration, which deepens the visual contrast of the raised work; the higher surfaces retain their silver tone. There is minor denting to one or both urns, visible on close inspection but not immediately prominent at display distance. One urn has a slight lean, likely from minor deformation to the base, which does not affect stability at display. The lacquer coating shows wear consistent with age. The interior of the base shows a faint impressed mark, not legible enough to identify a maker.

All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
