A small carved alabaster urn lamp on a stepped square plinth, made in Italy and turned in the classic baluster form. The body has a reeded lower section, ring-turned collars, and a domed lid that hides the socket. The paper label on the underside reads "Lamp base, made in Italy," which places it in the mid-20th century run of Italian carved alabaster lamps that came out of Volterra and exported in good numbers. It has been rewired with a new cord, plug, and socket and works. At ten inches it is a petite accent lamp rather than a full-size statement piece.
The lamp is in good vintage condition and has been rewired with a new cord, plug, and socket, and it works. There is a stable crack through the turned collar where the body meets the base, visible in the photographs. It is a cosmetic flaw only. The structure is sound and the lamp stands and functions normally. The underside of the base shows heavy orange and green mineral staining that has spread up onto the lower edges of the plinth, consistent with age and some past damp exposure in the porous stone. The rest of the lamp reads clean and white. Please review all photographs closely, as they form part of this description. The bulb shown in the photos is not included in the sale.

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
