A handsome matched pair of late 19th century green glass spirit decanters, complete with hanging silver plated labels stamped GIN and BRANDY. These were made for the Victorian sideboard, when hosts decanted spirits for service and used bottle tickets so guests could identify each pour at a glance.
The deep olive green glass and substantial, thick bases give these real presence on a drinks tray or bar cart. Both have a pronounced kick-up at the base, a classic old-glass detail that helps a tall bottle sit solidly and feel weighty in hand. The overall look, paired with the traditional spirit labels, strongly suggests British use and taste, likely England or the British Isles. These are unmarked, so we describe them by form and materials rather than maker.
Both collars are removable, which is helpful for cleaning and display. A strong styling piece even when left empty, and an easy way to bring English hunting lodge and library-bar character to shelves, a drinks station, or a butler’s pantry vignette.
Dimensions: 11.75" H x 5" W x 5" D each
Likely origin: England or the British Isles (unmarked)
