French Neoclassical Brass Candlestick Table Lamp

A French neoclassical brass table lamp, converted from a candlestick, sourced in Paris. The form follows the Louis XVI vocabulary with precision: a domed gadrooned base ringed with beading, a tapering fluted column shaft, a beaded collar at the junction, and an acanthus-chased ovoid knop below the socket. The casting throughout is crisp and substantial. The lamp has been rewired for US electrical use with a gold twist cord and an in-line switch, and takes an E14 candle-base bulb (an E14 adapter for standard US sockets is widely available). Shade not included.
The lamp is in very good vintage condition. The brass throughout retains its natural unlacquered patina with warm toning and minimal surface wear consistent with age. Light verdigris oxidation is visible in the recesses of the gadrooning on the base and in some of the carved detail on the column, which is age-appropriate and not distracting. No dents, losses to the casting, or structural issues. The wiring has been replaced with a new gold plastic twist cord and in-line switch. The E14 socket is sound. The underside of the base is raw stamped brass with the cord exiting through a drilled hole, standard for this type of conversion, and shows light surface spotting consistent with age. Overall a clean, attractive example.

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
