A petite French bouillotte lamp with the original adjustable mechanism still working as intended. The shade is forest green tole with a hand-painted gilt laurel border and a warm cream interior, mounted on a brass bracket that raises and lowers via the original brass thumbscrew. The two-light brass base has urn-form candle cups with knurled bobèches, a gadrooned oval tray, and small palmette handles flanking each end. Made in France in the Louis XVI manner, circa 1920 to 1950. Has been rewired with new candle sleeves and a US plug.
The lamp is in good vintage condition and in working order. The brass base, candle arms, central rod, and finial ring all retain a warm gilt-toned patina with light wear consistent with age. The tole shade shows genuine craquelure across the painted surface and minor scattered wear to the gilt laurel decoration, all consistent with age and adding to the character of the piece. The cream interior of the shade shows light spotting and minor paint loss in a few areas. The right candle socket sits slightly bent toward the back, visible only when viewed from the right side, and does not affect function. The lamp has been rewired with a US two-prong plug, and the candle sleeves are recent replacements installed at the time of rewiring, as the originals were torn. There is no on/off switch; the lamp operates by plugging in and unplugging. As with any rewired antique lamp, we recommend having a local electrician inspect the wiring before extended use.

All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
If your piece arrives damaged, please photograph the damage immediately (including packaging), contact us within 48 hours at austynmariedesign@gmail.com, and do not discard any packaging.
