English Brass Setter Dog Figure, Early 20th Century

A flat relief casting of an English setter on point, the figure cut out in silhouette with detailed coat, feathering, and ground texture worked into the front face. The reverse is unfinished with a small cast mounting lug at the base, indicating this was originally screwed to a surface, most likely a box, trunk, or piece of sporting furniture. Removed from whatever it was mounted to at some point, it stands on its own base and displays well as a standalone shelf piece. English in origin, early to mid 20th century, unmarked.
The piece is in fair to good condition with honest age-appropriate wear throughout. The front face retains good casting detail in the coat, feathering, and ground texture with a mixed patina of aged brass and darker oxidation settled into the recessed areas. The silhouette edges show some wear and minor roughness consistent with age. The reverse is unfinished as cast, with a small two-hole mounting lug at the base; the edges along the base show filing or working, consistent with having been fitted to a surface. The piece stands stably on its cast base without rocking.

All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
If your piece arrives damaged, please photograph the damage immediately (including packaging), contact us within 48 hours at austynmariedesign@gmail.com, and do not discard any packaging.
