About This Piece

A charming set of four Victorian butter pats in black transferware, each with a different storybook-style scene. These small plates were originally made for table service, but today they are just as useful for salts, rings, tea bags, or as a styled stack on a bar cart or breakfast tray.

The graphics have that classic engraved look associated with mid-Victorian transfer printing, and the simple banded rim keeps them feeling clean and displayable. Unmarked on the bases from what is visible, but the form, decoration style, and wear align well with an English example from around the 1870s.

Dimensions: 4" diameter 

Condition:  Antique condition consistent with age and use. Edge chips and rim nicks are present across the set, including one more noticeable chip. There is staining and discoloration, including a darker ring on one dish, plus scattered dark speckling and age-related surface wear. Light crazing is visible on at least one example. Please review photos closely, as they are part of the description.

All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.

All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
