Belgian woven wall tapestry depicting a Middle Eastern hunting scene in the Orientalist tradition, with riders, hounds, and figures set against an arid landscape. The piece hangs from its original rope and is finished at the sides with tassels topped by ornamental plaster embellishments. Palette runs to warm ochres, reds, and muted greens, softened by age. Belgian tapestries of this type were produced through the early and mid-20th century, and this one is offered as vintage without a firm date. A large-format textile for a hallway, library, or above a sideboard.
Very good overall with age-related softening to the colors. A few of the string loops that attach the top edge to the hanging rope have loosened and one has come undone; this could be easily reinforced or re-stitched. The ornate plaster embellishments on the left-side tassels have broken in spots, but the tassels remain sound and hang well despite the missing pieces. The seam on the reverse is beginning to fray in places, nothing structural or of concern. Please refer to the photographs.
Shipping & Returns
All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
Furniture is the exception. Because of size and weight, furniture shipping is quoted separately rather than calculated at checkout. Send a DM on Instagram or email austynmariedesign@gmail.com for a quote, or arrange your own shipping from the warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
If your piece arrives damaged, please photograph the damage immediately (including packaging), contact us within 48 hours at austynmariedesign@gmail.com, and do not discard any packaging.
