Antique German copper engraving of the full state arms of Hesse-Cassel, dated 1795. The heraldic achievement features a complex quartered shield with the arms of Hesse, Thuringia, Hanau, and Katzenelnbogen, crowned with helmets, crests, and two griffin supporters. Sourced in England from a late 18th-century German armorial publication. The impression is complete with fine detail throughout, on warm cream laid paper with light toning and minor foxing consistent with age. Framed in later black-painted wood with cream mat. A significant document of German princely heraldry from a pivotal moment in the Napoleonic era.
