A German silver salt cellar set in the Louis XVI revival style, comprising a lidded master salt stamped 800 on the body, three matching open salts in coordinating frames, and the original shell-bowl spoon. The casting is consistent across all four pieces: repoussé floral garlands, oval cabochons, urn motifs, and pierced scroll feet, all pointing to a single Hanau workshop active between roughly 1890 and 1920. All four pieces retain their original deep cobalt glass liners. The hinged lid of the master salt opens on its hinge, and the pinecone finial is intact.

Condition

The set is in good antique condition overall, with one significant structural issue on the master salt that should be understood before purchase. One of the two side handles on the master salt is missing, and the leg on that same side is partially broken away, leaving the body to rest unevenly on that corner. The damage appears to be an old loss rather than a recent break. The lid of the master salt is intact and opens on its hinge; the pinecone finial is present and secure. The cobalt glass liner of the master salt is in place and undamaged. The repoussé decoration across the lid and body is well-defined and without losses.

The three open salts are in good condition. The cobalt glass liners are present and intact in all three. The pierced silver frames show light tarnish consistent with age and minor surface wear, with no missing elements visible across the group. The scroll feet are intact on all three open salts.

The shell-bowl spoon is present and matches the decorative vocabulary of the set. It is unmarked and shows light tarnish and minor wear at the bowl. The spoon does not carry the 800 silver mark found on the master salt body and should be considered silver-toned metal of uncertain fineness.

The open salts and spoon are unmarked; only the master salt body carries the 800 stamp.
