A French gilt bronze picture frame in the Louis XVI taste, late 19th to early 20th century, with notably solid casting and crisp ornament throughout. Laurel garlands run down each side and meet at a ribboned floral crest at the top, with the whole resting on scrolled feet that give it real sculptural presence even without a photograph in place. The weight tells you immediately this is cast metal rather than stamped brass. The original glass, easel support, and hanging ring are all intact, so it shows equally well standing on a mantel or hung on a wall. Sourced in the south of France.
Overall good antique condition with honest age-related wear. The gilded surface shows rubbing and patina along edges and high points, consistent with handling over time. The glass has surface scratches and light marks from use. The back shows oxidation and discoloration, with general wear to the metal backing and easel. Structurally the frame is solid, with no breaks or losses, and the easel functions properly.

All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
