Bearing a signature lower right, currants and roses arranged against a shadowed ground, this is a square oil on canvas in the Dutch still life tradition. The composition leans on the old pronkstilleven habit of pairing fruit and flowers, red currants trailing over full-blown roses in yellow and pink, worked wet into a dark background so the ripe color reads first. The handling is confident and the canvas carries its age openly, with craquelure and honest surface wear. It comes in a gilt composition frame with a foliate molding.
The painting shows craquelure across the surface consistent with age, with some paint loss at the upper left and small scattered losses along the lower edge. Surface grime and an uneven, discolored varnish are visible. The canvas is on its original keyed stretcher with a horizontal cross-member, and the tacking edges are intact. I have not lined or restored the work. The frame is gilt composition with a foliate molding and carries composition losses at the corners and along the edges.

All antique and vintage items are shipped from our warehouse in Bluffdale, Utah. Each piece is carefully packed by hand using archival materials and custom crating when necessary.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item. Local pickup is available at the AMD Warehouse.
All sales of antique and vintage items are final due to their unique, one-of-a-kind nature. Illuminé candles and The Collector's Guide may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unopened and in original condition.
