18.75" H x 20" W x 11.5" D

This impressive antique copper towel steamer chamber once belonged to a professional barber shop steamer unit, used to warm towels for straight razor shaves in the early 1900s. Likely made in England and Simplex in style, this piece was crafted with solid copper, a tin-lined interior, and a bold industrial silhouette that now lends itself beautifully to interior styling and repurposing.

Measuring 18.75 inches high by 20 inches wide and 11.5 inches deep, the chamber features its original ceramic-knobbed front access door, a side-mounted spout, and a pierced inner plate designed to distribute steam. An ornate cast brass finial tops the form, offering a sculptural and historic detail. Originally part of a full heating unit that sat on a pedestal over a copper boiler, this standalone piece now functions as a versatile decorative object.

Today, this vintage steamer makes a show-stopping piece repurposed in countless ways. Style it as a statement planter for ferns or orchids, a wine or champagne cooler with ice, a rolled towel holder in a bathroom or spa, or even a firewood cradle by the hearth. Its dramatic scale and rich copper patina give it striking visual appeal in both vintage and modern interiors.

Whether displayed in a barbershop, converted for home use, or added to a curated antique collection, this is a rare find with rich material character and endless styling potential.

Conditions: This listing includes the upper towel chamber only from an antique barbershop steamer unit. It shows signs of use consistent with age, including surface patina, interior oxidation, minor scuffing, and a small dent on one end panel. The spout, ceramic knob, and decorative finial are present and intact. The piece is structurally sound and ready for display or creative repurposing.
