Published in 1916 by Chapman & Hall in London, this ninth edition of The Surgeon’s Log: Impressions of the Far East by J. Johnston Abraham blends travel narrative with medical memoir at the height of the British imperial era. Abraham records his experiences as a surgeon abroad, combining personal observation with commentary on the places, people, and customs he encountered across the Far East.

The eight illustrated plates are intact and clear. Minor tears or chips appear to be confined to the preliminary pages. A well-preserved and attractive copy overall.
