Sir Richard South's pocket-format guide to British butterflies, 1906 first edition in the Wayside and Woodland Series. Frederick Warne issued the volume with the original blue cloth binding, gilt butterfly device, and a full plate program covering adult butterflies alongside their eggs, caterpillars, chrysalids, and food plants. South was editor of The Entomologist and curator of the Leech collection, and the book reflects working entomological authority rather than casual compilation. Offered as the 1906 first edition pending plate count confirmation.
