Condition:
Antique condition consistent with age. The surface has an aged glossy varnish with minor scattered wear and small specks, most noticeable in the dark areas. There is paint loss and abrasion along portions of the outer edges, consistent with prior frame rub when the panel was previously loose, with the main scene remaining largely unaffected. The work is oil on wood panel and is secured into a later backing with modern clips on the reverse. The vintage gilt frame shows typical wear, including scuffs, small finish losses, and some corner join stress/separation.
