Personally sourced and imported from Paris
A beautifully utilitarian piece of French household metalwork, sourced in Paris and made in warm, aged brass with a riveted slat top and sculptural strapwork legs. This form is often described as a trivet or small warming stand, and it also closely resembles an antique iron rest used to safely set down a heated iron between uses. The elevated, ventilated top is designed to keep heat from trapping against a surface, while the riveted construction and curved profile give it an architectural, early industrial look that styles effortlessly in both traditional and modern interiors. Equally at home on a table, sideboard, or hearth, it makes an excellent trivet, plant riser, candle stand, or display platform for barware and decor.
Origin: France (purchased in Paris)
Date: circa 1890–1930
Condition:
Good antique condition with age-appropriate wear throughout. The stand is slightly bent out of shape as shown in the photos, with minor patina, oxidation, and scattered surface marks consistent with age and use. Riveted construction appears intact and the piece presents well for display and practical use.
