The shape is a compotier sur pied, a raised dish meant to hold fruit or sweets as a centerpiece. The well of the bowl shows light scattered speckling and a few small dark specks in the glaze, consistent with age and normal for antique faience. The printed mark on the underside is clear and undisturbed.
