English Victorian book slide in figured walnut with bone inlay and domed brass studs, c. 1870–1900. This compact desk rack reflects the Gothic Revival taste popular in late-19th-century England, when refined “library accessories” were gifts for readers and graduates. The arched ends with thumb-grip cutouts and a stepped plinth keep a short run of books tidy and portable. Bone plaques give a crisp ivory contrast to the warm walnut while the brass detailing adds a mellow gleam typical of Birmingham-made mounts of the period.

Condition:

Good antique condition with honest age and use. Surface wear and small finish rubs, scattered darkening to brass, light toning and tiny marks to bone inlay, and minor age-related separation and touch-ups at a couple of base joints as shown. Sturdy, clean, and ready to style. Please review photos.
