There is a signature in the lower right that has abraded into the ground and can no longer be read. Surface shows light wear and scattered flecking consistent with age, visible under raking light in the photographs. I have not cleaned the surface and am not making a claim either way about earlier cleaning or varnish. The support is a canvas-textured artist's board; the reverse is seated in the frame and not fully accessible without removal. The frame is a molded gilt profile with genuine wear, rubbing to the gilt, and losses at the corners showing red bole beneath, all shown in the photographs. Modern strap hangers and braided wire have been added for hanging and are recent.
