Pugin and the wider Gothic Revival carried into nineteenth century decorative arts. The cobalt liner reads almost black on the table and deep blue when held to light. Unmarked, which is typical of French and Belgian silver plate of this period. The pierced gallery is intact with no breaks, splits, or repairs. All four ball feet are present and secure. The cobalt glass liner is in good condition with no chips or cracks and seats properly in the frame.
