This antique brass crown is a small but powerful piece of history. Made around 1880–1920, it was likely created to sit on top of a church statue or altar figure, such as the Virgin Mary or a saint. The threaded fittings inside suggest it once screwed into place during ceremonies or feast days.
The design features tall, curved points and round finials in a Gothic Revival style 👑 a look that became very popular in England during the late Victorian and Edwardian eras. The deep red glass “jewels” were used to symbolize love, sacrifice, and devotion, giving this crown a beautiful meaning beyond its appearance.
Crafted from solid brass, it has a warm, natural patina that only comes with age. Whether styled on a stack of books, a pedestal, or as part of a royal-inspired display, it brings character, symbolism, and a touch of English history to any space.
