The hand coloring remains fresh across all four, with the blues especially well preserved. The frames are later black and gilt moulding and show scuffing and rubbing to the gilt along edges and corners throughout, in keeping with age and handling. Backing is kraft paper with wire hangers; one plate is numbered in pencil on the verso. The plates are framed and were not examined outside their frames, so the sheet and image dimensions and the condition of the sheet edges beneath the mats are not recorded here.
