That combination, a triple arcade closing a formal allée with an intact domed palace beside it, together with the Belgian names inscribed on the stretcher, points to the Parc du Cinquantenaire in Brussels rather than Paris. There are two small tears in the canvas in the upper sky area, along with scattered paint loss and flaking through the pathway and lower foreground, and craquelure across the surface consistent with age. The canvas remains unlined on its original keyed wooden stretcher, with surface grime and light scattered specking throughout. The signature at lower right is incised into the paint and is difficult to read. The frame is a period gilt gesso compound frame with wear and losses to the ornament, most visibly at the corners.
