Picturesque Ireland (1884) — Illustrated Large Format Edition
Edited by John Savage · Published by Thomas Kelly, New York
This book talks about romantic landscapes and storied ruins of 19th-century Ireland with this striking 1884 edition of Picturesque Ireland. Lavishly illustrated and elegantly bound, this large-format volume was created to honor Ireland’s dramatic natural beauty, rich cultural legacy, and architectural marvels.
Edited by Irish-American poet and historian John Savage, the book combines poetic prose, historical commentary, and detailed artistic engravings to depict castles, abbeys, coastlines, and countryside scenes throughout Ireland. Intended to stir pride and nostalgia among Irish-American readers, it remains one of the most visually impressive works of Irish Americana from the late Victorian era.
